Homemade lemon melt and pour soap!

πŸ‹This homemade lemon soap is so simple and fun to make, only using a few ingredients!πŸ‹
  • Melt and pour soap base- for this one I am using "Donkey milk soap"
  • Lemon essential oil
  • Soap mold - I found this super cute lemon one at T.J Maxx. but any one will work.
  • Fresh lemon and zester
  • Dye (optional)

Fist cut up your soap into about one inch cubes. Only cut up as much as you need and remember that the soap may look like a lot before its melted, but it will get smaller as its melts.

Zest your lemon or two, depending on how much you want in your soap, the zest will give it a fresh lemon scent.
Microwave your soap base in a microwave safe dish, each microwave if different so you may only want to do it in thirty second increments, stirring between each one.

Once your soap is melted, stir in your dye and lemon scent to your liking. If you would like to you can mix in your lemon zest now or use it to top off your soap once its in the molds or even do both!
Finally, pour your soap into the molds and add the lemon zest to the top. Wait around 24 hours for it to completely dry before removing it from the mold.
And here is the final product! Its a super simple and fun craft to make that can be used for so many things! You can use it as a body wash, wrap it up and give it as a gift or a party favor. You can even use it to wash your dishes!

Thank you for reading and I hope you give it a try!πŸ‹
